Most mechanical design programs today can be placed into one of two categories.Either they are expensive applications like SolidWorks, Wildfire, or CATIA, costingthousands upon thousands of dollars and offering very specific mechanically orientedtools, or they are programs that cost only a few hundred dollars, but don’t providemany of the tools that a mechanical engineer needs.
